COMPANY HISTORY
Willard Bergey, Sr. grew up on the family farm in Hatfield, PA. To better assist with work around the farm, he taught himself how to do electrical work. Always willing to help out friends and family, he became known as the neighborhood’s “go-to” man for electrical service needs. In 1937 Willard opened Bergey’s Electric to better focus on his growing customer base. In 1940, he hired his first employee to assist with the electrical needs in the community.
AN ENVIRONMENT OF GROWTH
In the early 1940s, Bergey’s Electric started our HVAC division. Our first appliance and lighting showroom opened in 1965. In 1970 we expanded our showroom to include electrical supplies. Most recently, in 2021, we separated the showroom from the electrical supplies, moving our appliances and decorative lighting to a beautifully renovated facility on the corner of Bethlehem Pike and Bergey Road.
As time goes by, our customer base has continued to grow, with over 12,000 unique customers served since 2008. We contribute this growth to our values:

GENERATIONAL LEGACY
Bergey’s Electric is now in its 4th generation of owners, but leadership is not the only multi generational group. Several of our electricians joined the team learning the trade by working alongside their fathers.
CAREER LONGEVITY
Many of our technicians started working at Bergey’s Electric as helpers. Taking advantage of opportunities to learn and expand their skill set, they worked hard to become some of our most trusted electricians.

Training opportunities include routine safety meetings for team members to expand their knowledge base. Offering a variety of growth opportunities, including routine safety training with breakfast as well as both online and on-the-job training opportunities to help team members develop their abilities as electricians.
